MARK YOUR CALENDAR!!
The Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) invite you to participate in a special summit focusing on critical issues surrounding infusion devices — October 5-6, 2010, at the FDA Headquarters in Silver Spring, MD.
Infusion pumps are among the most crucial and widely used medical devices in today’s healthcare delivery system. Yet, over the past five years the FDA has received reports of over 56,000 adverse incidents associated with infusion pumps and there has been an increase in the number and severity of infusion pump recalls.ÂÂ
To address this concern, AAMI and the FDA are co-hosting this Summit to build consensus among key stakeholders on action plans that will improve the design, engineering, manufacturing and use of infusion pumps — including data collection, user interface, safety standards, insulin infusion, design and human factors, and much more
Don’t miss this opportunity to join your colleagues from hospitals, industry, academia, and the FDA to improve patient safety and infusion pump performance. Your input at this Summit is important and can make a difference.ÂÂ
Pre-registration is required. You must have written confirmation from AAMI to participate in the summit. (See the registration page for details.)
The agenda is now available. Contact Chris Dinegar at [email protected] with questions.
