For generations, families have trusted Mezzetta products on their tables. We take that trust seriously, which is why we want to share what we know about a voluntary recall involving a specific lot of Mezzetta Greek Peppers and the actions we are taking.

We’re aware of a video circulating on social media showing a pest contaminant in a jar of Mezzetta Greek Peppers. We’re in contact with the consumer and have moved quickly to investigate the situation and initiate a voluntary recall.

At this time, we have received no reports of illness or injury. Based on the information currently available, the recall applies to the specific product and lot identified below.

A Limited Voluntary Recall

• The recall applies only to:
  Mezzetta Greek Peppers, 32 oz.
  SKU: 10106328
  Lot: 720106
• We have detailed production and distribution records that allow us to identify where product from the recalled lot was distributed.
• We have identified the customers that received product from the recalled lot and are working directly with them to isolate and remove the affected product from sale.

We Moved Quickly

• We have arranged to retrieve and examine the product involved in the original consumer report and are reviewing the relevant production, sanitation and food-safety records as part of our ongoing investigation.
• We immediately took action to identify where the product was distributed and work with affected customers to isolate and remove it from sale. As our investigation continues, we’ll take other appropriate steps as needed.

Food Safety at Mezzetta

• Food safety is our highest priority. Our facilities follow established programs for sanitation, pest control, product quality and traceability designed to protect our products throughout production and distribution.
• Our Quality Management System is audited under the SQF (Safe Quality Food) program, a globally recognized food safety and quality certification program benchmarked by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
• Our facility uses technology and established food safety controls to mitigate risk. Our Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan is designed to identify, evaluate and control potential food safety hazards throughout the production process.

• If you believe you have a 32 oz. jar of Mezzetta Greek Peppers from lot 720106, please do not consume the product and contact Mezzetta at [email protected] for assistance.
• Based on the information currently available, no other Mezzetta products or lots are included in this recall.
