— Whole Foods Market of Austin, TX is recalling Fromagerie Coop de Mean Cabricharme cheese because the product contains egg lysozyme, an egg white protein, which is not declared on the product label. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The cheese was sold in the Specialty cheese department at 18 Whole Foods Market stores in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Rhode Island.

Recalled product was cut and plastic wrapped by the pound with Whole Foods Market scale labels and would be identified as follows:

All affected product has been removed from store shelves. The mislabeling issue was discovered by a store team member. No illnesses have been reported to date.

Customers who purchased the product do not need to return it but are urged to destroy it. Anyone who purchased the affected product may obtain a full refund with a valid receipt from place of purchase.
